After you log in to UM Pay, go to the links on the left and follow these easy steps:

If you are student:

  1. Select User Preferences to indicate any alternate e-mail addresses for bill notification. Also, indicate whether you want to be notified when payments are made by your authorized payer(s).

  2. Select Payment Profile to set up and store your bank account or credit card information so that payments can be easily transferred out of your checking or savings account or charged to your credit card.

  3. Select Authorized Payers to set up individuals (like a parent or spouse) to view and pay the bill on your behalf. Link to specific directions here on how to download/forward UM Pay e-bills and set up authorized payers. IMPORTANT: After you go through the online authorization, you must give the authorized payer login name and password you created to your authorized payer to enable their access to UM Pay.

  4. Select View Accounts (after you receive the e-mail notice that your online bill is ready) to view the current billing statement, as well as prior billing history. You can also download and print an official copy of the bill if you want to mail a check payment or mail a copy of the bill to your parent or guardian.

  5. Select Make Payment to make a payment from your checking, savings, or credit card, using the stored Payment Profile you created. You may also select "e-check" to make an online payment, if you choose not to store bank account information on UM Pay.

  6. Click on Payment History to view all electronic payments made using the UM Pay system.

If you are an authorized payer:

  1. Select Change Password to reset the temporary password your student has assigned to you to ensure privacy of data and information. Once you set up your permanent password, your student will not have access this information.

  2. Select User Preferences to indicate an e-mail address the University should use to send e-mail billing notices (sent in addition to the billing notice e-mail sent to the student), as well as whether you'd like to be notified via e-mail of payments you have made.

  3. Select View Accounts (after you receive the e-mail notice that your online bill is ready) to view the most recent billing statement, as well as prior bill history. You can also download and print an official copy of the bill if you want to mail a check payment.

  4. Select Make Payment to make an online payment using your checking or savings account or a MasterCard, DISCOVER, or American Express credit card.

  5. Select Payment History to view any electronic payments you made using UM Pay.
